Countryside Stewardship Facilitation Fund Phase 3 - LM04101
|
Description
As an integral part of Defra’s Countryside Stewardship scheme (CS), the CS Facilitation Fund (CSFF) provides funding at the landscape scale for organisations to bring individual farmers, foresters and other land managers together to work cooperatively in order to maximise the impact the scheme has on the local environment, through bringing larger areas of land under active management. CSFF has a wide remit and can cover land under existing agri-environment and woodland agreements, common land and land not currently covered by a scheme. If it can be shown that the CSFF is successful then its use can be seen as a cost-effective way of encouraging wider cooperation, adding value and increasing the environmental impact of the whole scheme. |
Objective
Phases 1 and 2 of the evaluation of the CSFF provided a scoping study of the introductory phase of CS and an initial evaluation of the success of the CSFF, with respect to both quantitative and social capital outcomes. Phase 3, had specific objectives to evaluate the benefits Facilitation Fund groups offer, measured against natural capital and social indicators with a particular focus on contributions to nature recovery and ecological restoration. |
