Food Authenticity Conference - FA0151

Description
Following a Defra-FSA workshop on improving communications and intelligence flow it was agreed that there was a need to raise the profile of Government activities on countering food fraud. The workshop identified the need to have regular conferences to showcase commissioned research and as a platform for discussion on stakeholder needs in this area.
Objective
• To raise the profile of Government research on food authenticity and that carried out within Defra in particular
• To act as a UK focal point for food authenticity research
• To network with other scientists and programmes dealing with food fraud issues and solutions
• To establish the state of the art on food authenticity research, provide external challenge to Defras food authenticity research programme
• Work with experts and industry to develop future priorities for defra’s Food Authenticity Programme
