Socio-economic data – determining how and what to take into account in the planning of marine protected area networks - MB0104

Description
Summary Objective:
To understand and recommend how socio-economic data could be integrated into the planning of UK Marine Conservation Zone network. This will involve an expert workshop and result in the development of socio-economic data-layers. The inclusion of socio-economic factors in network design is still a developing area. There is a need to consider how such factors should be incorporated.

Key Customer Purpose:
Recommendations will be used to formulate guidance on how socio-economic data should be considered in the design of MCZ networks. It is also expected that the output will identify the key datasets which will need to be provided to Regional MCZ Projects as part of selecting MCZs.
