Summary Objectives:-
To determine the environmental requirements for successful depuration of scallops (Pecten maximus) with the production of a report, for DEFRA, identifying critical minimum acceptable conditions for depuration and a manual, for industry, providing advice on effective depuration methods.

Key Customer Purpose:-
Enable DEFRA to produce Conditions of Approval (CoAs) for purifying scallops and to provide advice and guidance to the shellfish industry.
