Desk study to quantify relationships between incorporation techniques & their workrate on reducing NH3 emissions - AM0104
|
Description
Complete Title: Desk study to quantify the relationships between incorporation techniqes and their workrate on reducing ammonia emissions following the application of solid manures
The objective of this study is to develop a model that will estimate the reduction of ammonia emissions from a range of incorporation techniques when used on commercial farms. In particular the effect of the time lag between manure application and time of incorporation will be quantified. The model will also address the effects of soil type and moisture content and degree of manure decomposition on machinery work rate and the effectiveness of manure incorporation. The model will provide information to Policy makers on the most effective means of incorporating manures to reduce ammonia emissions. A series of field experiments will be designed to validate the model. |
Objective
1. To establish relationships between work rates for the machinery used for incorporation, manure type and soil type on ammonia abatement.
2. To produce a simple model of ammonia abatement based on type and workrate of incorporation technique.
3. To propose a series of field experiments to validate the model |
