Development and improvement of analytical methods - AE1029

Description
Summary Objective:-
Annually review existing analytical methods used by DEFRA and other organisations which assess a range of determinands such as sensitivity and selectivity for heavy metals, inorganic and organic chemicals including novel compounds. Recommend new or modified techniques for the analysis of environmental samples such as fish, shellfish, seawater and sediments.
Key Customer Purpose:-
Through the continued development of appropriate and effective analytical methods, enable DEFRA to fully participate in discussion meetings e.g. under the collaborative National Marine Monitoring Programme and at OSPAR or ICES.
