Towards operational oceanography- improving `Smart Buoy` technology - AE1024

Description
Summary Objectives:-
Further develop the Smart Mooring technology and use this to enhance existing moored equipment whose purpose is to collect oceanographic data and information on the environmental quality of inshore waters. Developments will include the capability of long term deployment of equipment.
Key Customer Purpose:-
Through the development of more reliable and longer life equipment reduce monitoring costs, at the same time increasing the quality and amount of data collected to support DEFRA responsibilities e.g. in respect of the European (Nitrate Directive) and eutrophication. |
