Contribution to Nitrate Conference - NT2209

Description
The 1999 MAFF Nitrate Conference was held to promote the findings of MAFF research on nitrate losses from agricultural land and to highlight the improved scientific understanding that underpins nitrate pollution control measures and advice in the UK. The contribution of ADAS was to present work on 3 areas: the modelling framework for evaluating nitrate losses at national and catchment scales; strategies to encourage use of nitrogen in animal manure; and development of improved advice for farmers and advisers. This involved writing chapters on these 3 areas for the conference booklet, compiling a list of ADAS authored publications from the Nitrate Programme, arranging for boards to be drafted for the focus areas and presenting the papers at the conference.
