Description
DEFRA REGIONAL FOOD TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER CENTRES
RFTTCs act as a single point of contact for small and medium-sized regional food companies with food related technical needs. Through links with universities, relevant government agencies and local industry, the RFTTCs act to stimulate increased awareness and uptake of innovative food technology. Each of the six centres offer a differing range of services which include:
* training courses
* access to pilot plant facilities to support product development
* established corporate membership schemes and regional databases of food
SMEs
* regular publication of newletters dealing with topics of interest to the
sector
* topical seminars and workshops
* consultancy services, information services, contract research, product
development and access to other sources of funding such as the Teaching

Objective
Placement of 30 students in industry; 20 public lectures; 12
newsletters; assistance to 50 local companies; safegaurd
100 local jobs; 5 R&D bids; training for 150 food employees. |
