To assess the relevance of climate change to fluvial flood defence issues by estimating the potential impact of predicted future climate change and detecting actual trends in climatological records.

Key Customer Purpose:
Provides the necessary information to help MAFF formulate long-term fluvial flood defence policies based on the best possible predictions of the impacts of climate change on fluvial flood defence requirements.
