Summary Objectives:-
To determine the effect of permeability and crest elevation on the performance of submerged offshore breakwaters and directly compare the effectiveness of submerged as compared to surface piercing breakwaters.

Key Customer Purpose:-
To assess the relative financial and other benefits of submerged compared to surface piercing breakwaters. To enable MAFF to provide improved guidance to operating authorities on design methodologies for offshore breakwater schemes.
