An analysis of the selectivity processes within the beam trawl fisheries for Crangon crangon and improving selectiviy - MF0615(1)

Summary Objectives:-
Examine a range of methods aimed at improving the selectivity of shrimp nets, including inserting selection screen and square mesh panels in the cod end. Improve the survival rate of undersized shrimp in the onboard riddling process.

Key Customer Purpose:-
Enable MAFF and the industry to consider the advantage of adopting trawls with improved selectivity characteristics.
