Beach management and design - FD0705

Description
Summary Objectives:-
Develop improved techniques for the prediction of beach transport and longterm morphological development where coarse grained sediment (shingle) forms a significant proportion of the beach material.

Key Customer Purpose:-
To provide greater understanding of beach behaviour to enable MAFF to provide improved guidance on beach management, the design of coastal defence structures on shingle beaches, and how to predict recession rates of natural and man-made coastal features through lateral erosion of near-vertical surfaces.
