Isolation and characterisation of porcine myosin heavy chain genes - LS1001

Objective
01: To isolate and characterise one or more MyHC genes, not previously cloned, from the pig. 02: To isolate and sequence the corresponding MyHC cDNA(s) from pig skeletal muscle cDNA libraries, derived from muscle at different stages of development. 03: Classification of the porcine MyHC isoform(s). 04: Promoter analysis: determination of muscle-specific 5' regulatory elements. The objective is to conduct systematic functional analyses on the 5' regulatory region of one or more MyHC genes to determine the regulatory sequence of elements necessary for muscle- and possibly isoform-specific expression.
