Implications of extensive land management for sheep production in Britain - MS1507

Objective
1) Describe the breeding structure, quantify the extent of production systems and management systems in British sheep industry. 2) Review the subsidies paid to sheep producers and the schemes designed to encourage extensive farming systems and associated environmental improvement. 3) Assess the sheep management practices and the changes resulting from a range of modified subsidy arrangements and extensification schemes. 4) A synthesis of different change scenarios into changes in system productivity and profitability and relevant externalities.
