Description
This project will set up a framework to support decisions concerning food safety. The framework will be based on the principles of decision analysis and will haelp decision s to be made in a consistent manner, in line with policy objectives and in a documented way. Objective
To establish a list of all important factors for making decisions about food safety. To construct a set of objectives which incorporate these factors. To develop a set of attributes against which the degree to which the objectives are met can be assessed. To establish the data requiremnets for realistic and practical assessment of the attributes and establish a feasible plan under which the data can be collected and built into the framework. To set up, on the basis of the above, a decission framework which can be used to support decissions about food safety To demonstrate the framework by trials in the area of deregualting food safety and controlling chemical contamination. Final objectives: To set up a decision framework which can be used to support decisions about regulating food safety and other decisions in the food safety area. This framework will encompass a set of objectives based on the interests and concerns of the relevant groups and a set of measurable attributes against which information related to the decision can be made.
