Averse/Toxic Effects from Traditional Medicines and Food Sus - FS2817

To collect, investigate and evaluate cases of suspected adverse/toxic effects from exposure to traditional remedies and food supplements; update case and product databases regularly; provide data to health professionals to improve management of these cases; provide data to MAFF and DH for a possible regulatory action.
Via surveillance obtain complete toxicological data on case reports of illness so that these reports can be used as the basis for regulatory action. Complete case studies will include detailed case histories, analyses of available samples, determination of probability of association between exposure and effect, and the determination of dose-response relationships.
