An analysis of the role of induced cell proliferation in tumorigenicity using model in vitro cell systems. - FS1706

The project will involve the development and use of model tissue culture systems for:- a) the detection of mitogenic chemicals, b) the identification of such chemicals in the diet, c) characterisation of the fidelity of induced cell division, d) the assessment of dietary mitogens to tumour induction and progression.
To develop and evaluate a series of cultured cell assays capable of detecting and assessing dietary chemicals with the potential to; a) produce mitogen stimuli, b) modify the fidelity of mitogen stimulated cell division, c) modify the frequency of cell transformation.
