Effect of pasteurisation on cryptosporidium oocysts in full fat cows milk and sheep milk - FS1021

Description
Investigation of effect of pasteurisation conditions on oocysts in full fat cows milk and sheep milk immuno-magnetic particles will be used to isolate oocysts from the milk, the oocysts adhere to milk solids and a more effective method of recovering them is required.
Objective
To determine whether pasteurisation conditions will destroy oocysts in full fat bovine and ovine milk. Earlier work showed that oocysts retained some viability in skimed milk and this project will determine if milk fat has a protective effect.
