SURVEILLANCE OF UK CEREALS FOR OCHRATOXIN A - FS2801

Description
OCHRATOXIN A (OA) IS A NATURAL TOXICANT WHICH HAS BEEN DETECTED IN CEREALS ALTHOUGH VERY LITTLE DATA ON THE FREQUENCY AND LEVELS OF OA OCCURRENCE IN UK GRAIN ARE AVAILABLE. SURVEILLANCE NEEDS TO BE CARRIED OUT TO PROVIDE DATA FOR USE IN EC NEGOTIATIONS ON SETTING REALISTIC MAXIMUM PERMITTED LEVELS OF OA IN CEREALS.
Objective
TO PROVIDE DATA WHICH ENABLES MAFF TO DETERMINE A SCIENTIFICALLY-BASED LIMIT FOR OCHRATOXIN A (OA) IN UK PRODUCED CEREALS.
