Factors affecting virulence and spread of bonamia (COMPLETED 3/93) - FC0502

Description
R&D Summary Objectives:- Investigate alternative methods of oyster husbandry and recommend handling practices which impart maximum resistance to Bonamia infection. Key customer purpose:- More effectively fulfil licensing responsibilities under the Act by setting husbandry conditions which will help prevent the spread of Bonamia, leading to a reduction of MAFF's sampling and laboratory testinng programme.
Objective
1. To recommend methods of oyster husbandry which impart maximum resistance to Bonamia infection, consistent with good commercial production.
