Develop a new UK pesticide risk indicator. - PC0102

Description
We are seeking to develop a UK Pesticide Load Indicator to enable us to identify and quanitfy the potential risk (accumulated hazard) associated with pesticide use. The indicator would have potential to inform the development of regulation or policy instruments. It could also be used for the creation of visual representations showing clearly the changes in potential risk associated with pesticides load over time.
Objective
1) Create an indicator that will show changes in the risk posed to human health and the environment as a result of UK pesticide usage and contribute to more effective evaluation of the impact of UK policy initiatives.
2) Provide better information on levels of possible risk posed by pesticides than that available from the EU’s harmonised risk indicator, helping the UK government to better monitor and enforce compliance with regulations around pesticide usage
3) To provide an additional tool for communicating with the public about pesticide usage and how regulation is used to address risks.
