Towards indicators of environmental sustainability - BE0166

Description
The 25 Year Environment Plan sets out government's commitment to 'leave a lighter footprint on the global environment by enhancing sustainability and supporting zero deforestation supply chains,' ensuring our consumption and impact on natural capital are sustainable, at home and overseas; and advocating that environmental sustainability should be at the very heart of global production and trade.

Additionally, the 25 YEP commits government to producing indicators that enable us to comprehend the complexity of the environment and allow us to understand how the environment is changing.
Objective
1. Review what global impacts / footprint indicators are being used and/or developed by others, such as by other governments and organisations.

2. Explore options for developing UK footprint indicators

3. Generate experimental statistics that could be further developed to produce an indicator in this space.
