Description
To conduct primary research with animal keepers and vets to provide evidence on the impact of current exotic disease compensation policy on animal keeper behaviour and the likely effectiveness of different compensation measures in terms of promoting positive disease risk management practice. |
Objective
1. To conduct primary research with animal keepers and vets involved in past cases of exotic disease to determine whether and how current compensation policy influenced animal keeper behaviour. 2. To conduct primary research with animal keepers and vets in each sector to explore how animal keepers are likely to respond to different financial incentives and penalties. 3. Identify the implications of the research findings for Defra’s compensation review, by sector. |
