Biosecurity Risk Matrix - SD0483

Description
To assist us in developing a consistent assessment of the key biosecurity risks across Animal Health , Plant Health, Aquaculture Health and Invasive Non Native Species. Currently the four risk areas (animal, plant, and aquatic animal health, and invasive non-native species) use different approaches to measure likelihood and impact, which means that the respective risk assessments are not directly comparable. In order to assess the biosecurity risk landscape, Defra wants to draw together key risks across the four areas onto a single grid summarising the likelihood and impact of these risks – this is the Risk Report. The Risk Report will define the likelihood and impact within defined quantified bounds.
Objective
a) Achieve improved, consistent risk assessment across the risk areas;
b) Ensure that semi-quantified estimates of risk (likelihood and impact) are produced, capable of being updated .
c) Ensure that estimates draw on more than one source, to improve challenge and debate and reflect diversity of views.
