Long-term effectiveness of HLS for conserving the botanical interest of Lowland Wet Grasslands - LM0421

Description
This project involves detailed survey of c.100 lowland wet grassland sites being managed under HLS, focusing in particular on NVC vegetation communities MG4, MG8 and M22. Vegetation within permanent quadrats will be recorded and a condition assessment of the vegetation stand undertaken. Management information will also be collected. This will establish a quantitative framework for assessing the impact of HLS on lowland wet grasslands. By utilising a high proportion of sites that have previously been monitored under the ESA programme, an assessment of the long-term impact of agri-environment schemes on these habitats will be undertaken.
