Dietary Survey of Vegetarians - FS2401

Some foods consumed by vegetarians may contribute significantlly to the intakes of pesticides,naturally occuring toxicants or nitrates. In this study 400-500 identified vegetarians will undergo a 7 day weighed diary survey. A project report will be produced and the data will be stored on a computerised database.
1) To obtain accurate and detailed consumption data. This data must be coded in such a way as to allow the extraction of mean and extreme consumption of individual foods, 2) To identify vegetarians who are consumers of pulses, nuts, legumes, vegetables and fruit. 3) To provide information on the age, sex, social class and regional profile of vegetarians.
