Local Authority Waste Services Emergency / Contingency Plans - WR1802

Collect information about local authority contingency / emergency plans, particularly around waste collection and disposal but also on any other waste issues. The project will check across the regions of England to see if there is any variation in these plans. It will include rural and urban authorities and those with in-house and ‘contracted out’ waste services.
The scope will include a determination of which risks are covered, e.g. floods, strikes, power failures, etc. Also, if there is any regional variation in these risks. Examples of typical contingency plans will also be sought.
The findings will be presented in a short report, with appendices containing the collected information. Sample contingency plans will be delivered as separate documents as they may have confidential or sensitive aspects.
