Contribution to the Review of International Waterbird Census - WC0771
|
Description
The project will:
• Establish a robust assessment of the condition of Biodiversity Action Plan priority woodland sites and Annex 1 (Habitats Directive) types across England outside the protected site system, but comparable in form to that used for SSSI monitoring.
• To provide preliminary recommendations on management requirements for non-SSSI priority woodland sites based on these findings
• Assess the potential to extend this approach if desired to other countries in the UK.
Condition assessment will be based on a stratified sample of woodlands taken from the National Inventory of Trees and Woodland. The project has been developed in partnership with Natural England, Countryside Council for Wales and the Forestry Commission
