Facilitation of the Renewable Materials LINK Programme - NF0536

Description
The Renewable Materials LINK programme encourages investment in research and the exchange of knowledge between the private sector and the research base in furthering the non-food uses of renewable materials to support sustainable development. It is jointly sponsored by Defra and BBSRC.

This proposal covers the role of programme Facilitator. The Facilitator works to stimulate possible collaborative research proposals, facilitates the work of the Programme Advisory Committee with the sponsors and supports the Secretariat (provided by Defra).

1. Raising interest in the RM LINK programme from potential participants and awareness across a wider audience
2. Encouraging and supporting the development of research proposals
3. Advising the Programme Advisory Committee in its consideration of proposals
4. Monitoring individual projects and the programme as a whole and informing the Defra Secretariat
5. Commercial exploitation of project outcomes
