Soil surveys around nuclear power stations - SS0101

SS0101. Soil surveys around nuclear power stations.

Information on soil distribution and soil properties around nuclear installations is needed in relation to preparations for coping with nuclear accidents and other radiation release events. This study will conduct soil surveys to collect data for preparation of soil maps at a scale of 1:50,000 for land within an 8 km radius of 3 nuclear installations (Sizewell, Drigg and Hinkley Point). The resulting soil maps will be provided to MAFF for use in relation to radioactive incident planning.
To prepare soil maps at a scale of 1:50,000 scale for the land within 8km radius of Sizewell, Drigg and Hinkley Point and supplementary maps to show land use, topsoil texture pH group and slope.
