SHIRE pilot study - EQ02003

Defra’s contribution to a project to undertake a pilot study to develop and test systems and processes for the capturing and digitising of data from historical maps. The aim is to establish and validate a methodology for assembling a database of historical land uses, to identify the history of these locations and provide the means for capturing the boundaries of previously developed and potentially contaminated sites, showing key changes in land use over time.
