Joint NFFO/Defra project on simplification - SD12013

Description
The Government has a high priority for simplification of regulation, in order to cut burdens on business. This is to be carried out with stakeholders. The sea fisheries industry is heavily regulated and Defra has therefore agreed to establish a joint project with the National Federation of Fishermen's Organisations to identify burdens which in the industry's view are priorities for action.

This project involves the NFFO establishing meetings with stakeholders from the industry and the collation by a consultant of proposals made in those meetings for consideration by the regulators, both in the UK and the EU.
