Exploring the relationship between sustainable development and wellbeing and its policy implications: Project 3B - SD12007

Description

This project will build on the initial research project by SDRN referred to in the introduction above. It will examine in detail the recommendations emerging from the wellbeing literature and explore how these might be applied in the UK context, where wellbeing is an explicit or implicit objective for many policies.

Outputs will include:

· a review of the extent to which UK policy making is already focussed on promoting individual wellbeing across populations.
· Case studies exploring the application of recommendations emerging from the wellbeing research literature to UK policy. This would include:
o an assessment of the effectiveness with which wellbeing issues are addressed through existing policy approaches;
o consideration potential for focussing to a greater extent – or in a different way – on wellbeing as a policy aim.
