Investigation of Potential Changes to the Drying of Forage Maize Dry Matter Content Samples - VS02007

Description
To investigate the potential of utilising one harvest sample to assess dry matter content and NIR quality. Rather than the two samples presently dried at two different temperatures.

If successful, one sample will be used to assess dry matter content and NIR quality. This will significant reduce the cost of dry matter analysis in the National List VCU system.

To assess the feasibility of replacing dry matter assessment at 104°C for 24hrs with an analysis carried out at 60°C for 48hours as part of the VCU trial procedure.

Aim:
To reduce cost of National List testing on Forage Maize, by using one quality and dry matter content sample.
