Description
Key Customer Purpose
The research is needed to ensure that the information fed into the NMMP programme and database, which deals with marine monitoring information from a variety of sources, includeing Defra, the devolved administrations and the Environment Agency is collected on a common basis meeting nationally and internationally agreed protocols and satisfies accepted AQC requirments.
Summary Objectives
To ensure that data fed into the NMMP Programme and its associated database is fit for purpose and that there are objective and traceable means for assessing the reliability and fitness for purpose of envionmental monitoring results. It is also necessary to develop appropriate facilities for all orgainsiation providing data, and for further examination of techniques to examine temporal trends to demonstrate changes in environmental impacts. Support will also be needed to attend meeting of the National Marine Chemistry Analtyical Qualtiy Control Scheme: National Co-ordinating Committee and contribute as required to the NMCAQC annual report.
