The benthic ecology of the western North Sea - AE1143

Description
Summary Objective
Determine the occurrence and density of sediment dwelling animals collected off the English and Scottish east coasts in relation to natural and anthropogenic influences. Relate distributions in terms of both temporal and spatial scale to appraisals of environmental quality status.

Key Customer Purpose
To contribute to the international evaluation of benthic community status in the North Sea under the auspices of ICES and provide input to an assessment of the State of UK Seas as part of the Marine Stewardship process.
