BIOSED - Role of Biota and Dredged Material on Intertidal Sediment Dynamics - AE0259

Description
Summary Objective:-
Improve the understanding of estuarine sediment dynamics (erosion, transport and deposition) as well as the impact of fine – grained dredged material on the intertidal zone. Quantify changes in sedimentary processes in relation to key benthic biota, physical factors and fine-grained dredged material, through field and laboratory studies over a three year period.

Key Customer Purpose:-
Assist DEFRA`s FEPA licensing requirements by forecasting the potential environmental benefits i.e. ‘beneficial use’ of the placement of fine – grained dredged material on the intertidal zone.
