Summary Objectives:-
Examine the population dynamics of lobsters through a study
of the movement of young lobsters from inshore nursery
grounds to offshore reefs, in the SW region.
Key customer purpose:-
Enable MAFF to adopt appropriate management measures for
wild lobster stocks, and better assess the potential impact
of lobster stock enhancement. |
Objective
To obtain length/frequency data for no less than 1000
lobsters from each of the inshore and offshore stocks.
2. To assess the ovigerous state of at least 250 mature
female (>85mm carapace length lobsters) from both inshore
and offshore stocks.
3. To tag at least 1500 undersize (<85mm carapace length)
lobster from the inshore stock.
4. To obtain recapture data on tagged lobsters, target
number of recaptures 500 |
