Spring Salmon: Impact of catch and release and identifcation of spawning areas in the River Eden. - SF0232(1)

Summary Objective: Through radio tagging programme, assess the impact of catch and release on the survival of spring salmon, following release through to the time of spawning and identify spawning areas in the Eden catchment to assist with the future management of stocks


Key customer Purpose: DEFRA & EA are required to review the National Salmon Byelaws 5 years after introduction. One aspect of this review will be to fully assess the effectiveness of catch and release policy as a amanagment tool.
