Investigations of the transmission of scrapie within and between flocks - SE0228

Description
The main aim of the project is to evaluate strategies for the control of scrapie in the GB sheep flock. This will be done using mathematical models to describe the transmission and maintenance of scrapie within and between flocks.

The model will be used to address three key questions:
· How is scrapie transmitted within and between flocks in Great Britain?
· What will be the relative impact of different control policies on the level of scrapie in the GB sheep flock?
· How much will each policy cost the farmer, the sheep industry and the government?
