Spatial and temporal distribution of predators and predator prey interactions - MF0317

Description
Summary Objectives:-
Improve current multispecies models by incorporating key elements of the dynamic relationship that exists between predators & prey. Using cod (predator) and sandeels (prey), establish their distribution and relative densities through acoustic and trawl surveys, monitor large and small scale movements of cod with tags and sonar buoys, and assess cod feeding preferences in relation to prey availability.

Key Customer Purpose:-
Through developing an understanding of the relationships between predators and prey, which in turn affect fish abundance and movement, improve the multi-species models and hence long term reference points which are used in stock assessments and quota setting.
