Generation of spatially consistent rainfall data - FD0426
|
Description
Summary Objectives:-
To develop and demonstrate a stochastic method for generating long-term spatially-consistent rainfall series, at hourly intervals, for use in catchment modelling.
Key Customer Purpose:-
This project supports a larger study (FD 0404) that aims to develop an entirely new approach to flood estimation based on the continuous simulation of rainfall- runoff. This will enable MAFF to continue to inform operating authorities and consultants of design criteria for flood defence based on the best available scientific understanding. |
