|
Objective
i) To determine the primary causes of adult bee and brood mortality in infested and uninfested honey bee colonies in Devon.
ii) To determine the effects of acaricide treatment on pathogen incidence in infested colonies in Devon.
iii) To determine the effects of the mites alone on the development and longevity of honey bee pupae and adults in laboratory studies.
iv) To develop simple methods of estimating relative mite abundance in infested colonies.
