SURVEILLANCE OF IMPORTED FISH AND SHELLFISH FOR THE PRESENCE AND IDENTIFICATION OF HYDROPHILLIC AND LIPOPHILIC TOXINS (C - FS2842

Description
Continuation of FS2819 following trasfer of CSL Torry to
Marine LABORATORY. Samples of imported fish will be
obtained from Billinsgate and PHAs and tested by Mouse
bioassay, HPLC and immunoassay for ciguatera toxins.
Shellfish samples will be tested for PSP and DSP by mouse
bioassay |
Objective
To provide data for final assessment which would indicate
whther thee was a need for legislation to test imports for
algal toxins. To provide evaluation data for an immunoassay
test for ciguatera not previously used in UK To provide HPLC
profiles of fish samples which have been shown to be
positive for the presence of ciguatera toxin by either mouse
bioassay immuno assay or both To produce a final report |
