A geographic information system to indicate areas at risk following fires or releases of chemicals. - FS1720

1.Characterise the likely range of materials released from a fire, explosion, runaway reaction or other chemical emergency. 2.Relate the releases as characterised in (1) to expected fall-outs in the vicinity of the emergency. This work will fall into 2 parts. The first part will review the current dispersion models as to their adequacy. The second part will incorporate adequate models within a GIS-style visual display to map the predicted fall-outs onto the potentially affected areas. 3.Determine the effect of the deposits identified under (1) and (2) on the vegetation in order to assess the potential hazard in the food chain.
