Advice on veterinary medicines used in fish farming. - FC0605

Non R&D Summary Objectives:- Provide advice to Veterinary Directorate and Headquarters Divisions (and other bodies) as needed on fisheries aspects of the use and licensing of aquaculture veterinary medicines Key customer purpose:- Enable Fisheries to participate in the scrutiny of fish medicines prior to licensing by the Minister, as required under the Medicines Act.
To assess documents, whether from VMD in the form of licence applications under the Medicines Act, or environmental quality proposals from DoE submitted to MAFF HQ for comment etc., quickly and impartially from the point of view of expert scientific knowledge of the problems and ramifications of aquaculture medicines and their fish, consumer and environmental impacts.
