The biology and population dynamics of bass - MF0113

R&D Summary Objectives:- Assess, monitor and predict the distribution, abundance, growth, seasonal cycle and energetics of pre-recruitment Bass stocks. Key customer purposes:- For stock management purposes, provide a clearer understanding of the optimum recruitment age for Bass in order to prevent recruitment failure, and to improve the quality and yield of the fishery.
To enable the current CASE studentship at University College, Swansea to collect data and conduct analyses which will be of special interest to MAFF in relation to the Ministry's responsibility for management and control of the Bass stocks.
