MIGRATION FROM COATINGS ON METAL CONTAINERS - FS2206

Description
METAL CONTAINERS ARE WIDELY USED IN THE PREPARATION AND STORAGE OF FOODS. THE MIGRATION FROM THESE CONTAINERS WILL VARY ACCORDING TO THE NATURE OF THE COATINGS APPLIED AND THE CONDITIONS OF USE. THEREFORE, IT IS PROPOSED TO COMMISSION A PROJECT TO ESTABLISH MIGRATION TESTING PROTOCOLS FROM SUCH COATED CONTAINERS UNDER VARYING TYPES OF USE.
Objective
TO ESTABLISH THE LEVELS OF MIGRATION FROM COATED METAL CONTAINERS. TO IDENTIFY COATING MATERIALS USED ON METAL CONTAINERS TO ESTABLISH THE BASIS FOR A MIGRATION TEST FOR CHEMICALS FROM COATING MATERIALS. TO ESTABLISH THE BASIS FOR MIGRATION TESTING USING WATER AND ACETIC ACID
