`Advice, stock assessment and statistics for migratory salmonid fisheries` - SF0101

Description
Non R&D Summary Objectives:- Monitor effects of marine fisheries on salmon stocks and monitor status of stocks on the basis of tag returns and statistics. Provide technical advice on regulatory measures and other matters, including at international meetings. Key customer purpose:- Ensure that MAFF fulfils statutory obligations to regulate the salmonid fisheries. Enable MAFF to represent UK views at international fora.
Objective
1. To monitor the effects of high seas and home water fisheries on salmon stocks. 2.To monitor the status of salmonid stocks. 3.To perform effectively other scientific duties arising from legislation and other commitments of the Ministry.
